The Maintenance Mechanic maintains a wide variety of industrial equipment, machines, and assemblies. The person in this position also diagnoses problems and makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments to equipment and machinery within the facility.

This position will maintain a wide variety of industrial equipment, machines and assemblies, as well as diagnose problems and makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments.

Shift Requirements:3rd Shift (core hours 11pm-7am, some overtime may be required)

Pay:$30.75 -$33.00, plus applicable shift differential

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and/or repairs of all equipment

  • Operate any machine or machine tool in the machine shop and to complete any job on these machines as required

  • Examine machinery and equipment for defects in operation and remove, repair, and replace defective parts

  • Using micrometers, make fits on and replace bearings, as well as other machine parts, to specified tolerances

  • Perform electric and acetylene welding on steel, cast iron, and bronze

  • Make minor electrical repairs when the electrician is not available

  • Order parts and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance program

  • Instruct operators on jobs assigned by the plant superintendent

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area

  • Perform repairs/maintenance on lift trucks

  • Perform other duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance department

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education Required:High School Diploma or Equivalent

Other Certifications Desired:Millwright card or equivalent preferred

Work Experience Required

A minimum of three to five years related manufacturing maintenance experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
  • Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
  • Good communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Ability to do basic math, such as read a ruler/tape measure, and calculate percentages
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work
