POSITION AVAILABLE: MAINTENANCE LEAD TECHNICIAN FOR PLASTIC INJECTION MANUFACTURING
Job Summary: Oversees the work of Maintenance Technicians to maintain both facilities and equipment in top operating order so as to achieve efficient production of products in a clean, safe work environment. Work to keep equipment running.
Leadership:
  • Plans/directs the work, and guides performance of Maintenance personnel, plans for continuing education of self and staff.
  • Holds daily shift meetings to organize the work and set priorities.
  • Organizes work and sets priorities of workload on daily basis in absences of maintenance manager.
  • Works closely with the Production Manager and responds promptly to changing needs.
  • Participates in procedures related to maintenance and safety.
  • Schedules work through the use of Maintenance Work Orders. Utilizes Maintenance Coordinator for tracking of closed and open Maintenance Work Orders.
Machine Maintenance:
  • Ensures that all equipment and facilities are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, agency standards, and fiscal consideration.
  • Ensures that high standards of safety are met and maintained with regard to all equipment.
  • Implements, and reviews regularly site-specific maintenance logs for all equipment.
  • Conducts regular maintenance inspections of all equipment.
  • Provides a summary of maintenance recommendations to peers and/or management.
  • Coordinates, arranges, and supervises or provided for the completion of corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with company operating procedures, practices and financial considerations.
  • Repairs equipment requiring minor repairs on a frequent basis.
  • Arranges for or provides training for personnel as it relates to the safety and maintenance needs of all equipment.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to ensure timely and efficient repair or replacement of parts and equipment.
Completes other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Maintenance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly to product, process, or schedule changes and emergencies.
  • Detail oriented and high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with strong desire to succeed.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to motivate staff.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma (a combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of diploma
  • Associate degree or Technical Certification preferred.
  • Four - seven years' relevant work experience
  • Seven plus years' experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Office, Plant, or Warehouse
Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the Plant work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. Office environments are climate controlled.
