Position Description:
Maximize the profitability of the organization by ensuring the best supply in terms of price, service, quality, and delivery of those productive materials under his responsibility, complying with the quality requirements established by internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, distribute, and track the progress of purchase orders for MRO (indirect) crib stock materials
  • Carries out requests for quotations, bid analysis, supplier recommendations, and sourcing decisions in agreement with Materials Manager (and at the request of Maintenance and Engineering Managers)
  • Direct supervision of MRO tool crib stock attendants, including managing performance, staffing levels, attendance, vacation/PTO, and work schedules
  • Directs the MRO tool crib stock personnel, in collaboration with the Materials Manager, to set and manage adherence of min/max inventory targets and on time delivery expectations from suppliers
  • Surveils the local procurement markets, informing the Materials Manager of relevant trends/developments
  • Negotiates with regional suppliers (new business decisions, annual price and savings negotiations) in agreement with the Materials Manager
  • Executes supplier visits/audits with Supplier Quality Engineers
  • Conducts cost analysis activities with Materials and Finance Managers
  • Provides assistance to the Commodity Managers for tenders, regular audits and supplier evaluations
  • Responsible for everyday communication with MRO (indirect material) suppliers
  • Carries out contract management, including contract data maintenance
  • Assists in the Engineering Change Process, new model launch activities, machinery moves, and production phase out activities
  • Troubleshoots (supports technical and time-critical ad-hoc requests/requirements)
  • Executes measures in the area of commodity reporting and performance measurement
  • Develops and updates templates, tools and standards in conjunction with the Materials Manager
  • Ensures regular communication with internal, external interfaces
  • Provides support to all activities assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain
Experience or strong familiarity with global supply chains, and skills in negotiating and prioritizing
Experience with PLEX highly preferred
